Underbody treatment and rust protection
Rust protection of the underbody and cavities — especially important on salted Vestfold roads. We assess the car honestly and give an estimate before we start. Car workshop in Sandefjord for all brands.

Rust protection in Sandefjord — why it pays off
Rust usually starts where you can't see it: on the underbody and inside cavities. On the Vestfold roads, which are salted throughout the winter, the strain is extra high — salt settles under the car and breaks down the metal over time. A good underbody treatment lays a protective film over exposed surfaces and slows this process, so the car lasts longer and holds its value better.
We treat all car brands and give you an honest assessment of what your car actually needs — no adding treatment it has no use for.
What we do — underbody and cavities
A complete treatment covers two different areas:
- Underbody treatment — the visible, exposed surfaces under the car: floor pan, wheel arches, axles and frame parts. Here we apply a tough, protective layer that withstands stone chips and water.
- Cavity treatment — inside doors, sills, beams and other closed cavities where moisture collects and rust often starts unseen. Here we use a thin, creeping agent that works into joints and cracks.
We clean and dry the underbody before treatment so the product adheres where it should. Which product suits best depends on the car's age and condition — we explain that when you book.
New car or older car — when and how often?
New cars usually have some factory treatment already, but in a harsh salt environment it is often sensible to supplement early — it is easier and cheaper to protect a rust-free underbody than to repair rust that has already taken hold. On older cars it is more about checking the condition and maintaining the protection regularly. We look at your underbody and give a recommendation based on what we actually find.
Underbody treatment and the EU inspection
Rust in load-bearing parts is a common cause of a note or a fail at the EU inspection. By keeping the underbody in order you reduce the risk of unpleasant surprises when the car goes in for inspection. If the car is coming in for service anyway, an underbody check can be done at the same time.
What does underbody treatment cost?
The price depends on the size and condition of the car and whether it needs underbody, cavity or both. You always get an estimate before we start, so you know what the job will cost. Get in touch and we'll look at the car and give you a concrete price.
